Triple I

My dear friend shared this with me.

What an incredible story and what an inspiring journey. Kind of makes you think that we are all sort of limited by our own imaginations. If only we could dream bigger and better dreams perhaps we could do bigger and better things.

Let the Madness Continue

How are your brackets doing?

On ESPN I am slightly ahead of Obama. He has 470 points and a percentage of 53.2. I have 480 pts. and 62.96%. I have 260 points from the 1st round and 220 points from the second round of games. How about you??

I did another bracket on CBS sportsline I’m doing even better on that bracket. In this case most of my picks weren’t all that well thought out. I just went through and made my picks more based on who I wanted to win. Same rating system; 490 points and percentage is 76.56. Pretty amazing. Of course my guys are giving me all sorts of grief for missing some of the games, but did they pick any teams? I think not. At least I did it.

Once again Debbie does it.

I have of course predicted KU to beat Michigan State. They better come through for me. I have to say that Oklahoma St. let me down. Or I would be doing much better.

The Emperors New Clothes, Revised

March 8, 2009

Recently I’ve been thinking about the childhood story of the Emperors New Clothes and the current economic situation.

     If we don’t learn the lessons being presented by the current economic mess we are bound to repeat them. We are being presented with an opportuninty to revise, revamp and rethink our economic model.
     How do people get rich? Generally speaking with our current model of consumerism; sell, sell, sell a bunch of junk that nobody really needs. Why are people losing jobs now? The car companies haven’t been able to convince us to buy the cars they make. The bankers over extended themselves with the loans they were selling. The motto was sell more; sell faster. Who cares that the experts have been worrying about a “bubble” that would burst for years and years. The crash was bound to happen. I might even venture to say that it was inevitable.

Art Gathering

March 6, 2009

Today I hosted an art gathering at my house. We are a group of women who took an art class a couple of years ago.

 Since the gathering is loosely structured (come if you can and stay as long as you are able, within the parameters that I have set) only a couple of us have been attending so far. It has still been great fun. Amazing what has occurred since I have been letting the creative energy flow. Not necessarily saying I have been producing anything amazing but more that I have been having a lot more ideas of how to do things and wanting to do things. Time will tell if any of this really creates a viable and fiscally responsible outlet for me. Meanwhile let the playtime continue.

Hello world!

March 5, 2009

Welcome!  This is my first time with a blog.

Letting me be; or the possibility of IT.

What does IT stand for;

Innovations in Technology (adapting to the future);

Initiatives in Teaching (living in the now);

Imagining Tomorrow.

This sort of explains my motivation for beginning this mode of communication. Curious to see where it might lead.
